Betsy Naumchik
I like to observe. I collect visual information from nature.
Not just the obvious beauty of nature but also nature's story. There is always a story, a past, present, and future to examine and understand. Things to be made aware of, things to preserve, things to protect. To me the simplest things become monumental and complex things become simplified.
There is great movement along with utter stillness in nature. I permit myself to experience the tension and drama that nature generously allows us to partake in. I work with watercolor, ink, and professional abstraction thereby creating the story. My work is simplistic yet, intricate, tight, and lost, realizing with thinking. I work in various mediums, watercolor, ink, pencil, a marker to name a few, and 2 different grace. To create a visual appreciation of how fortunate we are to coexist with nature, all her ecosystems, and how important it is to protect these precious bubbles of life.
Betsy is a lifelong resident of southern New Jersey. She resides in Galloway, NJ where she has her studio and teaches
